About
I studied Tourism Management at State School of Tourism in Madrid and Sociology at the University of Alicante (UA). I obtained my PhD from the UA Department of Sociology ("Contemporary Society and Culture" doctoral programme). My doctoral thesis deals with the relationship between residential tourism and lifestyle migration in Southern Spain.
Prior to teaching at the university I worked as a travel agent and held several positions at the UA International Relations Office and at the UA Summer Courses. Currently, I coordinate the UA Masters in Tourism Management and Planning and I am a researcher at the UA Institute for Tourism Research (IUIT).
I was a visiting scholar at Costa Rica Institute of Technology (ITCR), Universiti Sains Malaysia and Centre for Mobilities Research at Lancaster University.
My current interests are focused on lifestyle mobilities, social perception of tourism and social research techniques in tourism.
